Sinew Balm
Intensive Herbal Support for Acute Injuries
**Not pregnancy- and nursing-safe. Do not use if pregnant or nursing. Comfrey contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids.**
When the body experiences a strain, sprain, or sudden overuse injury, it enters a focused repair phase. This is when deeper connective tissues—tendons, ligaments, and fascia—need concentrated support.
Sinew Balm was formulated for these moments.
Featuring a high proportion of Comfrey, traditionally known as “knitbone,” alongside Arnica and Calendula, this formula is designed to support the body’s natural repair response following physical stress or trauma.
Rather than being used as a daily balm, Sinew Balm is best thought of as a targeted herbal ally for short-term healing cycles—when the body is actively rebuilding damaged tissue.
For ongoing joint and muscle care, many people pair this balm with Ember Balm.
Energetic Architecture
Deep • Binding • Restorative • Neutral warmth
Sinew supports structural integrity where effort accumulates. It is ideal for areas that need consistency more than stimulation.
Who It’s For
- Acute injury
- Knees, hips, and low back under load
For hands, wrists, elbows, knees, low back — places that bear load.
It is for structural devotion.
Who It’s Not For
- Prolonged daily usage
- Those seeking a strong warming or stimulating sensation
- Acute heat/swelling states
- People wanting "fast-acting relief”
- Individuals sensitive to comfrey or arnica
- Broken skin
Sinew is not flashy.
It is not a sports rub.
It is not a cooling gel.
It is a tending balm.
How to Choose the Right Balm
Each balm is formulated for a specific pattern in the body.
If you’re unsure which to choose, start here:
🌿 Choose Sinew Balm if you have:
- Tendinitis
- Sprains and strains
- Bruising
- Overuse injuries
- Areas that feel structurally strained or inflamed
This balm features a high proportion of comfrey, traditionally known as “knitbone,” alongside arnica and calendula to support the body’s repair response after physical stress or injury.
Use this formula when the body needs focused, short-term support during active healing.
This formula is designed for acute injuries and deeper connective tissue repair.
🔥 Choose Ember Balm if you have:
- Chronic tension
- Mild tendon irritation
- Achy joints
- Muscle soreness
- or would like preventative care for active bodies
With arnica, calendula, plantain, and cleavers, this balm supports circulation, tissue comfort, and gentle recovery without the heavier emphasis on proliferative herbs. This formula is designed for daily use and ongoing musculoskeletal care.
Still Unsure?
Ask yourself:
Does this area feel injured? → Sinew
Does it require prolonged daily application? → Ember
You can also layer them:
Apply Sinew first for structural support, then a small amount of Ember to stimulate circulation.
Cycling Sinew Balm
Because the Sinew Balm contains a high concentration of comfrey, I recommend using it in short, focused cycles.
Comfrey is a remarkable traditional herb known for stimulating rapid tissue repair. However, it also naturally contains compounds called pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs). While topical use on intact skin is widely considered safe, modern herbal practice favors moderation and cycling when working with comfrey-rich preparations.
Suggested use:
- Apply 2–3 times daily to the affected area
- Use for 7–14 days during active healing
- Then take a 1–2 week break before resuming if needed
This approach allows you to benefit from comfrey’s powerful restorative properties while respecting the traditional wisdom of short-term use for acute injuries.
